Grabbing the Prize.

Old Merry-Go-Rounds had great animal rides and a golden Ring.  As the Horses and animals went around and up and down.  The people would try to grab a Golden Ring, sticking out of a box of some sort, as they passed it.  One little fellow was observed not grabbing for the ring.  When questioned he said, "I just enjoy the ride."

It is in the stars.

A little boy I know was close to his Grandfather.  His Grandfather was a fixer and was constantly working on cars, his home, helping his neighbors and paying attention to this Grandson.  One day his Grandson had to be told his Grandfather had , "Gone to Heaven to help God fix the stars and keep them shining bright for all to see and enjoy."  This little Grandson got the idea to leave money, cookies and milk for his Grandfather on his Grandfathers Birthday and Christmas.  That way his Grandfather would have the strength and finances to fix the stars.  When asked if he was worried Santa Clause would take the cookies by mistake.  The little Grandson thought a moment then thoughtfully replied.  "No Grandpa was a biker and I don't think Santa would mess with his money, milk or cookies."

Where did the phrase hand out originate?

I donated to a Charity once. I believe the Charity people must have a list of people who fill charitable hands when they are out. Ever since that one donation I have been hounded by charities. I get them, online, in the mail, on the street, TV, radio and at my door. Do not get me wrong charities are good and do help people. Sometime they go a little too far. Like the one I was solicited for the other day. It went like this: Because of Hurricane Sandy, and other disasters, "Pet Rocks" have been washed away, stolen, and abandoned. Please give so these adorable "Pet Rocks" can be returned to their homes, or adopted and get new families. Rocks Association Yonkers Nevada On Wednesday.  Also known as Pray now It was an ad on a Carton of Wine with a picture of a lost or missing "Pet Rock."
