Christmas emails.

I love sending cards and stuff thru the email. I also found a way to buy stuff and have it shipped to the proper address. There is a drawback. I sent my Grandgal an email present. A subscription for eBooks since she got an eBook Reader. She thought it was an advertisement and deleted it. Do you save your emails? I do and it helps during peak delete mistake times.

Whew!

The cards are sent, gifts are bought drinks have been drunk and friends are toasted. Next candles will be lit, Church will be attended and friends and family that passed will be remembered. Will you be remembered for the Holidays? You bet I will. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy Birthday.

Christmas Child

Exactly four years ago on this date my daughter lost a little girl during childbirth. Today she had a little 7 lb baby girl with a brown mowhawk strip of hair. My daughter saw her for the first time and swore the baby said, "Hey mom. It took awhile and I finally made it." Yes! August Elizabeth is finally here. Merry Christmas. How goes your Holiday

It's beginning to look a lot like........

I remember what Christmas once looked and felt like. It was friendly, loving, warm and a season of Joy and Peace. I do not remember Horror movies or Alien movies. Just Lassie rescuing Timmy from the well and everyone being near a warm fireplace, singing, Christmas trees and Holiday smells. I still try to keep that in my heart. What is in your Christmas Holiday Heart?

Why I was born.

I was watching some children playing where I volunteer and remembered how my older sister, by 2 years, was when I was home with her. She wanted to play a game and I did not. Finally she informed me that I was born so she would have someone to play games with. If I did not believe her I was to ask our mom. My sister never lied so I played the games with her any time she told me. She passed from an illness when she was 21 and looking back on it now I am happy I did what she wanted. Although honest I did suspect she took advantage of me being younger. That is ok I forgive her. I was not so forgiving when we played house and she made me eat a mud pie. She insisted it took her all day to make it so how could I refuse. Were you born to be a playmate?

Sometimes hero's fall.

If you have not heard about the Penn State scandle in which children were being abused, then you are having a good day. Have you ever had someone you considered a hero come into a devistating negative light? The world tends to turn upside down and explode in some cases. Yes. I think there are real hero's still out there. Unfortunately they are harder to find and stand as hero's once did.

A little Bear

There was a little baby born in the Hospital I volunteer at. The baby was a 2 pound early one. I guess the stork was in a hurry to drop this one off. Dispite all odds it has been close to two weeks and and the baby is making a little progress daily. A generous person donates stuffed toys for us to give out. I asked the father if he wanted one and we found a nice white Teddy Bear. The mother came in and saw the bear and had tears in her eyes. She was very touched by this kindness. Have you gotten a little kindness today? I hope you have.

Steel Feet

One of my friends has steel feet. She bought 2 of those feet cleaner brushes. These feet things are used in the bathtub to clean your feet. You wear them like shoes and do not have to bend down in the shower to clean your feet. I also got one. She has no trouble with them. Unfortunately for me they tickle my feet so bad I cannot put my feet in them. So to me she has got to have no feeling in her feet or steel feet. How sensative are your feet?

Female Friends

Growing up being the youngest of five sisters I have learned that women can be tricky to get along with as sisters but really good and faithful friends. The first problem is getting past the sex thing. Women seem to be a little leary at first when a man is friendly and 9 and 1/2 times out of ten they should be. Once that is solved I have found that I really enjoy women as just friends. Now that I am older these friendships are getting better and better. As I age I look back and see the great changes that have taken place and I do believe there has been a good things happening not only in men and women relationships but with all people. So give friendship with a man or woman in your life a chance. Plus don't forget women are good cooks and bakers and believe me the food is much better shared in friendship. Have you made any new friends?

Flash

We have come a long way since the Commodore 64 Computer. Instead of getting simpler computing has become more and more confusing to me. We still have dial up and are suppose to have quicker INTERNET connecting with WiFi, Broadband, cable, satellite connections and whatever. Lately it has been as fast as the dial up I had years ago, just more expensive. Then we went from floppy discs, to all kinds of extra storage stuff and ended up with a flash drive thing. We have also learned about something called a USB port. It is amazing and I am happy to be experiencing all this stuff. I only wish there was a way to make use of a computer easier and have manuals that were not the size of 2 phone books put together. Children amaze me because they seem to be computer savvy the moment they are born. It is almost like they are taking classes while waiting the nine months or whatever. No wonder women seem to have bigger bellies. It is because they need room for all that computer equipment. Which also explains why computers are getting smaller. How do you keep up with all this computing stuff?

Just wondering.

I seem to get emails from women that always want to advertise their special body parts. Usually without clothing. Mostly they want to chat about making children. Anyway. I was wondering. Do women out there get the same type of emails but from men?

Technical Marvel

I drove my VW Bug to church. I arrived and exited my VW and locked my door with my fancy electronic key by just a push of the button. It locked up my car just fine. Then I realized I had forgot something and pushed the magical button again. Nothing. I pressed it again double nothing. My VW was securely locked. So for about 5 minuted I pushed the electronic device until panic began to surface mixed with a little anxiety. I tried the trunk, lock, unlock buttons and triple nothing leaving me definitely out. I sighed realizing my cell phone was locked in the car also so I could not call the Auto service for help. I also thought how will I get to work, I work weekends and have my days off during the week which I like. Then something strange happened. I noticed my ignition key I used to start the car. No, maybe in the old days they also opened the car doors too. So I gave it a try. That technically marvelous key worked and actually open my VW Bug's door. How are you with technical marvelous devices?

Amen

The story is of a Minister that came up with a home run sermon. He worked hard at it and it was the best one he ever wrote. He was very excited and could not wait for the next service so he could wow the congregation with his super message. On the big day he confidently took the podium and began to deliver the goods. Just when he started a pair of twins started to cry and fuss. The also enticed the other little babies to join in the chorus of baby noises. Baffled, upset and a little angry the Minister stopped his sermon hoping the babies would settle. They did not and only got worse. Finally he gave up and left the podium very disappointed. A few seconds after he left the babies got quiet. He came back and related to the congregation that he wrote a great sermon and that God had reminded him of the Sin of Pride by having the babies disrupt his sermon which he had thought so highly of. He blessed the babies and never gave the sermon but was happy with the results just the same. I learned to be patient that day. Just before the sermon started I had to go to the bathroom very badly. Because the babies cut the sermon short I was able to thank God too and get relief. How was church for you today?

Tired of tires.

Something happened and I am losing air in my one tire. Most of the feedback is I hit a pothole. I am always hitting potholes. I get bored and go pothole hunting when I drive. Mostly potholes hunt me and ambush my car before I can get them. I have small tires and they always look low to me anyway. I went and bought some of that flat tire in a can stuff. It is pretty messy. When I hooked it up it squirted green stuff all over me and the tire. When I was done it was flatter than before I tried to inflate it. I went to a gas station and someone jammed quarters in the air pump machine. I eventually I found an air pump and inflated my tire. Well that is my story. Do you have a tire story?

New baby things.

It is something to see the reaction of mothers and their new little arrivals. One mother had her first girl after a few boys and was so excited. Unfortunately when leaving the hospital the new little girl lost her first little girl sock. The mother was upset because it was the first time she got to dress her little girl up. After a few boy clothes this was special for the new mom. We could not find the sock but did take the new mom's name and number in case we find it. Sometimes something like a little newborn girls new sock can be pretty special. If you find it let me know please?

Custom Coffin

Here is something not a lot of people know about. You can build your own coffin. Bert and Bud Vintage Coffins will build any kind you want. They have holiday coffins for Christmas or a Western one, anything you can think of. My friend likes jumping out of planes and her coffin has a parachute in it. Yep! www.vintagecoffins.com is the way to go. I do not get any advertisement compensation for this information. I am just amazed by the idea. Any ideas for your last resting place?

French Vanilla

I volunteer at a hospital and we have free coffee for the visitors. Once in awhile I buy special cream for them. I surprisingly found out that the French Vanilla was the most popular. I also found out that little children are fascinated by the coffee machine and think it is a big toy. The children also know about the soda machine and are constantly pushing its buttons trying to get a soda. Unfortunately the soda is not free. One little guy kept bugging his mom for a soda. Finally she caved. She put the money in. He pushed the soda button and the soda can came down and fell into the soda tray. He looked at it smiled and began walking away. His mom called after him and reminded him to get his soda. He just smiled and told her he just wanted to press the button and watch the soda come out. Do you know children that just like to push adult buttons?

Pennies

Not much you can do with pennies except maybe collect them in a jar. I keep mine in a sort of jug. I saw a lady try to put pennies in a soda vending machine. She could only put in one penny because it kept rejecting it and would fall in the coin return. After a few tries she gave up. I felt kind of bad for her and pointed out a free coffee machine. She seemed happier. What do you do with your pennies?

Well Hello!

I was driving my yellow VW Beetle with my windows down when I came to a stop sign. A female type person was standing there and gave me a familiar hello! I asked her if she needed a ride downtown where I was heading. She was delighted and got in my car. On the way she was getting a puzzled look in her eyes. Then she asked are you John So and so? I embarrassingly replied no. Then asked her if her name was Kim? She said no. After a few more moments of silence I apologized and explained I thought was Kim and she did the same saying she thought I was John. Well. I gave her a ride downtown which was not really that far and she thanked me and hurried away. Have you ever had this experience?

Children keep us smiling.

My sister sent me this email:

A fun statment made by my 4 year old grandson, Logan, as he Mary and Duncan stopped for Mary's coffee. "Mommy, why do we always have to go to Dunkin Donuts? Can't we go to Logan's Donuts?"
Have a Fun Day!!!!

Walmart Shopper

Needed a garbage can for my house so I saw one while shopping at Walmart. I picked it up and put it in my cart. It had a lid on it which made me happy because I saw a few without a lid. As I wheeled away a Walmart person stopped me and informed me that the garbage can I put in my basket was for garbage. I questionably smiled and laughingly related that I was buying it to put garbage in it. He smiled back took the lid off the can, that was in my cart, and educated me by showing me there was already garbage in it. Which made sense because it did feel a little heavy when I put it in my cart. He then gently and professionally escorted me to the section where I could buy a brand new empty on. Are you a Walmart shopper?

In Laws no joke.

I just found out my former father-in-law just turned 90. He is an amazing, very intelligent and interesting person. Unfortunately his wife is also still alive. God bless. How are your in-laws doing?

Just a fine day.

The weather is nice. I am enjoying Mob Wives. Ate some Coconut M&M's. They were good but not very coco-nutty. Foot slipped off my break and hit the gas while driving. A little exciting but recovered and was safe. Still volunteering at the Hospital. The children that visit like our toys so much they take them home. So we get to buy more. What is fun is I get to say hello to you. Are you enjoying Fathers Day? I hope you are.

Jesus has a sister.

I went to church the other day and found out Jesus has a sister and she attends the same church I do. In church there is a hugh statue of Jesus and his sister that comes to church looks just like him. The statue is tall; she is tall. In fact they both have the same eyes, nose, hair and facial expression. I was in awe and was staring at her when she happened to look my way. I turned my head real quick so I would not get smited or something.
She is pretty in her own statuesque way so I have to be careful none of those deadly sins creep into my thoughts. I did wonder what it would be like to date her. What do you think it would be like to be on a date with her?

My niece just had her second baby boy at the hospital I volunteer at. I think that was pretty special. I seem to be writing a lot about babies. Any new babies in your life?

And One Angel

I had a dream my Grandfather and I went fishing. He had passed away a long time ago and I have never dreamed of him. This night we fished and caught some big fish. Then he had to introduce a young girl to me. I was confused about this; still I met her. Then as I started to have a conversation with her, my Grandfather walked away and was gone. The next day my Granddaughter called to announce her mother, my daughter, was going to have a baby the end of December. That would make 5 and one little angel in heaven in her family. Was my grandfather trying to tell me this? Did you ever have a similar dream? If you do tell my Grandfather Hello and ask him what is he doing in your dream. He does get around.

Hacked, sacked and whatever.

My email was compromised and all my email contacts were lucky enough to get advertisements for sex stuff. This is discouraging because most of my contacts are family and they think I am drinking boxed wine or doing drugs when I send them. Why does it have to be porn? Why can't it be something nice or helpful? (Sigh) Has this ever happened to you and what do you do?

Twins

I have heard that everyone has a twin or at least someone that resembles another person. I was in church sitting next to a person that resembled someone. I could not place him until he turned to see why I was staring at him. Then it dawned on me and I blurted out, "Hey! You look like Bernie Madoff!" He looked a little shocked and I got this feeling he did not know what to do but hitting me might have been one option. He said his name was, let us say, Harold and no relation to Bernie. He also said that to a few other people who must have heard me when I got the connection and began looking at us. I do not think I made a friend. Did you ever meet somebody who resembled another person or do you resemble one yourself? If you do be careful sometimes it is better to keep it to yourself.

Forgot anyone lately.

I was visiting my friends home and we were talking about how sometimes someone passes away and we wish we could have done more for them when they were alive. Sometimes visiting a grave is fine but it would have been better to have done something for them when they were alive. Life being so fragile sometimes we mean to and want to but then the unexpected happens and we lose them forever. So I came home and did do something for people that I wanted to remember while they were still alive. It was fun and made them and yes it made me feel better too! Do you know someone that is still alive and is someone you would like to thank?

Pass words.

I have a problem with passwords. These words I pass around to save on my computer to log in to certain sites. I know they are important to protect me from Internet harm, but I have so many I cannot keep track of them. I try to save them with my Internet saving password type tools, but every now and then I have to change them and they save my old password not the new one and I usually forget the new one. Then I try to retrieve these passwords and they ask me secret questions which I forgot the answer to. Do you have any solutions to this password delimna?

Easter Replay

On one arm was her 6 month old baby. The other arm held Easter packages, purse and car keys. Also with her was an argumentative 8 year old not getting into the back seat of the car. After a bit the child gets in the car under protest. She is ready to close the car door when she notices a woman cowering in the front seat. Yep another case of wrong car in store parking lot. Realizing her mistake she apoligizes to horrified stricken lady, then takes herself and her children and finds the correct vehicle. Do you identify with the driver or shopping mom?

Happy Everything!

Happy Easter, Spring, or whatever Holiday you are celebrating. I went to my ATM to get some extra holiday money. I was happy and in the holiday mood. My money was ejected from the machine and as I counted it and was checking my receipt, I ambled over to my car. Still reading the receipt I did not look up as I tried to open my car door. For some reason it did not open and I looked in my car and was shocked and horrified that there was someone sitting in my drivers seat. A split second later I realized something else. It was not my car. The person looked very afraid and I quickly shouted out I was sorry, wished him a happy Holiday and found my car, which was in back of me. Realizing I had a little yellow VW Beetle and he was in a big white chevy I yelled back to him, "Wow I wasn't even close." He kind of slumped down in his car and he looked like he was trying to hide. Did you ever have this happen to you during the Holiday?

Wind

The wind is at it again. It seems the wind is all over these days. It is making Tornado's in North Carolina, strong winds in Pennsylvania and a bunch of other states. To save parking spaces in the City of Scranton Pa. people put out garbage cans and cheap lawn chairs on the street; in front of their houses. I was weaving all over the road trying to avoid them today. I had to stop a few times and let them pass in front of my VW Bug as the wind blew them across the street. Plus it is The Bay of Pigs Anniversary and well that is another story. Are you taking precautions to be safe from the wind today?

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Yes Veronica there is a Sun.

I came to work and was happy to report to the person I was to relieve. I was also happy to tell her that it was going to be 80 degrees tomorrow. She looked at me and hopefully asked, "Do you think it is true?" It was then I realized how hard the Winter was on everyone. I reassured her and she looked happily relieved. How was your Winter?

Think about it.

Why do we think about what we think about when we think about it?

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Lost in a driveway.

I was in my car the other day opened the door and dropped my keys. I thought they fell and bounced under the car. I looked at the ground area by my car door and found nothing. Then I got out of the car and crawled around looking underneath the car. Still no keys. Then I noticed a stairway leading down to a basement near my car. I went up and down the steps and scowered the area. Having again finding nothing I started to panic a little because that was the only set of keys I had with me. I crawled under the car again and then stood by my opened car door. To my relieved suprise I found that my keys had somehow had fallen between the seat and door toward the back of the seat. I felt a little foolish but happy. Have you ever dropped your keys in a Church Parking lot as it was filling up with people going to church? If you did then you know about the stares people give you and the horns that beep at you when you are looking for them.

Cold Heads

Tis the season of colds it seems. I noticed a few people coughing, sneezing and just looking a bit like they are not up to par, so to speak. I also noticed lately that little toddlers talk like the just huffed a bit of helium. Such is the day. Are you well and not suffering from one of those cold heads?

Just need a friend

I was going to work and before I got in my little yellow VW bug to leave. I noticed a little boy, about 6, walking thru the neighborhood. He had his head hung low and was walking slow and looked a little sad. Just then another little boy came from behind the house and threw a little plastic ball at the little sad guy. The sad little boy perked up; smiled and began to laugh as he picked up the plastic ball and started chasing the other boy. All he needed was a friend. Do you know someone you could throw a little plastic ball at?

Spring thaw.

Well it seems the children where I live are getting Spring Fever. I noticed this in the town next to mine also. There the children in that town are lighting cars on fire to celebrate. In my neighbor hood they are just content to knock over bikes and stuff like that. Which is dangerous because the bikers get mad and hang them upside down by tying the offenders feet to tree limbs. Government workers usually cut them down before noon. A hello to my two followers of this blog. I appreciate you reading this and hope you are still enjoying my weekly writings. I use to write more but it takes me awhile longer to get out of trees than do the children. I don't turn over garbage or bikes I just made the mistake of laughing at the bikers because I thought they were taking these Spring antics too seriously. How do you celebrate Spring in your town?

Illusive itch

I get all snuggled in bed. Find the right spot after much tossing and turning. Fix the blankets and sheets just right and the pillow fluffed perfectly. Just on the verge of my sleepily land dreams it happens. I get an itch. On my foot. It had to pick the farthest part of me. I have to disturb everything that is making me comfortable. Which I do. Take care of the itch and try to get comfortable again. But nooooo. Now the itch begins to travel. It goes to the back of my leg, to my back,to my left arm then my right. It drives me to a wide awake state then stops. That is until I get comfortable again. Do you sometimes get an evil itch during the night?

Windy.

We have had some very windy days in Pennsylvania, where I live. It was very windy the other night and my metal trash can was blown away by the wind. I looked all over for it but it was gone. The good thing was it was empty so no garbage got blown around. The next night it was very windy again. Low and behold the next morning I woke up and the wind blew back my missing garbage can. It was standing upright on my landing and neatly full of garbage. Do you have winds that can do this?

Valentines Day

I don't usually get excited about valentines day being single and enjoying it. I was faced with some lovely ladies that lost their husbands this year. It is sad when people are married for a long time and then are all of a sudden alone again. I think it is more difficult being alone for a woman more than a man. Don't get me wrong men get lonely too but for some reason women seem to have it tougher. So... they invited me to dinner to keep them company for that now dreaded day just so they will have some company. They are good friends and I was friends with their husbands so we both miss them. Yes they have families but it is not the same as they would tell you. So I learned that Valentines day is more than a day for lovers. It is a good day to be a friend and share some times with them too. What do you do on Valentines day? I bet you can think of someone that may need a friend.

Volunteer

I volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and I am hooked on the Burger King new Jalapino sandwich and iced coffee. I have a Ronald McDonald cup so the ice coffee is easy to hide but I have to eat the sandwich real fast. I kind of feel like a traitor but those sandwiches are really good. I like my job at Ronald McDonald's because I get to give away stuffed teddy bears to the little children and their smiles are priceless. Do you do things in work like this too?

Icy stuff

I have a small yellow 2000 VW Beetle. I really like it but it is real low to the ground and a few inches of snow makes for a little tricky driving. Do not get me wrong it does drive pretty well in the snow. Unfortunately we had an ice storm and I got iced in. It took me a few days to find a man with a plow to dig me out. I tried to find a woman with a plow first to be fair but I could not find her. Anyway he did a good job and I am back driving around. Do you know any women that owns a snow plow?

Dog Talker

I watch my friends dogs once in awhile. I get free coffee and enjoy them. My friend has a dog trainer and I was fortunite to meet her. I was very suprised on how much the dog trainer could talk. Communication seemed to be her second passion after dog training. I have never met a person who talks so much and was amazed on her use of language. The dogs were acting in an excellant manner when she was with them probably because they could not get a bark in otherwise. Do you need a dog trainer?

New Job

I have a new job. I work in a hospital for the Ronald McDonald House and I get to give out Teddy Bears once in awhile. What a good job it is. What kind of perks do you have in your job? What I do is work where the babies are born.

Hello!

I have been gone for awhile. I did get my eglobal netbook. It does not work. So I am stuck with a $99 Albatross for awhile longer or mayber forever. My older computer broke down also. I did finally get a new one and I am using it to finally get back and blog again. Thank you all for reading this stuff. I know I just babble but it helps me get thru the day. Why do you blog?
